Cornelia Olympia Laycock, age 89, of Atlanta, IN passed away August 25, 2018 at Autumnwood Assisted Living at Tipton, IN.
She was born November 4, 1928 at Indianapolis, IN to Avram and Cornelia Olympia (Lupus) Lascu.
She was a graduate of George Washington High School at Indianapolis, IN. She then worked for several years as a secretary in the medical research department at Eli Lilly Company at Indianapolis, IN.
She was a member of Gray Friends Church near Carmel, IN.
Mrs. Laycock was an accomplished actress and had performed in various roles, primarily at the following theaters: Civic Theater, The Belfry, and Mud Creek Players. She also enjoyed being an actor at the Benjamin Harrison Home. She had done voice overs for television and videos, one of note being the Timothy Church Mouse Show that was on an Indianapolis TV Station for several years.
She also enjoyed knitting and reading.
Surviving her is a son: Lee E. (MaryAnne) Standeford of Atlanta, IN, daughters: Nancy L Standeford of Houston, TX and Carol L. Collins of Greenwood, IN, grandchildren: Kimberlee D. Standeford and Krista A. Standeford, and a sister: Mary Paino.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters: Ann Harrold, Virginia Houk and Victoria Lascu.
Memorial services will be held at Gray Friends Church at the corner of Gray Road and 146th Street at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 1, 2018.
