Dr. Ellen Katherine Cook

Dr. Ellen Katherine Cook, age 67, of Fishers, IN and formerly of Cicero, IN passed away April 26, 2019 at Allison Pointe Healthcare Center at Indianapolis, IN.

She was born October 30, 1951 at Hartford City, IN to William David and Mary Elaine (Ball) Cook.

She was a graduate of Cardinal Ritter High School at Indianapolis, IN with the Class of 1969.  She then attended Purdue University earning a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree.  Dr. Cook then worked in Bloomington and Muncie, IN, before forming her own practice in Cicero, IN.  Her love of birds led her to be recognized as a specialist in the medical and behavioral care of birds.  She was greatly admired and loved as she cared for the pets of her clients.

She was an active and faithful member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church at Cicero, IN where she served as a member of the Parish Council and also served for years as the  Director of Religious Education.  She often took communion to the sick.  Dr. Cook had received training as a spiritual director and had received a degree in Ecclesial Lay Ministry through the Diocese of Lafayette.  She later taught in the program.  Ellen shared and taught the faith she loved.  She guided many of all ages to know, love and walk with Christ Jesus.

Dr. Cook loved being with her family and tending her garden.

She married Raymond Russell Frazier who survives her.  Also surviving are two brothers: David Hugh James Cook of Cicero, IN and Joseph Earl Michael Cook of Seattle, WA, nieces, nephews and several godchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother: William Douglas Scott Cook.

A visitation from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 2, 2019 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 390 South Pearl Street, Cicero, IN 46034 will precede the funeral service that will begin a 11:00 A.M.  Burial will occur at a later date.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Gabriel foundation, 39520 County Road 13, Elizabeth, CO 80107 or Little Sisters of the Poor, 2345 West 86th Street, Indianapolis, IN  46260.
