Gerlene Burwell Obituary

Gerlene "Jeri" Burwell, age 80, of Sheridan, IN passed away at Sanders Glen at Westfield, IN on September 20, 2019.

She was born July 16, 1939 at Moss, Tennessee to Lloyd and Betty (Strong) Green.  She was a graduate of Jackson Central High School with the Class of 1957.

Jeri had worked at the former Hook's Drug Store at Cicero, IN as a cashier, then worked for several years with a children's program at the Fishers Public Library.  She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church at Noblesville, IN.

Jeri enjoyed going to horse races with her husband, doing water color paintings, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She married John Wilford "Jack" Burwell on March 8, 1974.  He preceded her in death August 31, 2013..  In addition to her husband she was also preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by a son: Robby D. (Robyn) Woodruff of Sheridan, IN, a sister: Mary Teeters of Kokomo, IN, grandchildren: Travis Woodruff, Lindsey Shaffer, and Logan Turpin, plus 4 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, September 24, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel, 209 West Jackson Street, Cicero, IN 46034.
