Gladys Clara Rose Bowman, age 100, of Inverness, FL passed away September 4, 2018 under the care of Hospice House in Lecanto, FL. She was a former resident of Cicero, IN for many years.
She was born on March 5, 1918 at Doland, SD to the late Julian and Myrtle (Fortin) Remily.
Gladys was a homemaker and also a long time care-giver to many children. She was a devout Catholic and long-time active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Cicero, IN. She moved to Inverness, FL in 2004 so she could be closer to her daughters and granddaughter. She enjoyed playing bingo, sewing, cooking, playing cards and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edwin F. Bowman in 1998. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by two sons: Ronald J. Bowman and Norbert E. Bowman, daughter: Patricia Brown and five sisters.
Surviving her is a daughter: Janice Cannon of Inverness, brothers: Maurice and Marvin Remily, sister: Rachel Cotes, four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on November 23, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 390 South Pearl Street, Cicero, IN 46034 with visitation from 9:00 A.M. until time of the services.
