Harold Luke Abbott

Harold Luke Abbott, age 92, of Arcadia, IN passed away May 28, 2019 at St. Vincent Heart Center at Indianapolis, IN.  He was born April 18, 1927 at Indianapolis, IN to Leslie and Alice (Bullock) Abbott.

Harold had worked a few jobs as a young man but soon found himself at Harris Pine Mills near Cicero, IN where he became a supervisor.  He later worked at Kercheval Egg Farms and later retired from his last job at Nora Wholesale Supply.

He was a nature lover and in younger years tended a garden for produce and flowers for his family.  He loved to read and study, especially his Bible.  His family attested that he loved others and expressed his love by hugs, plus words of appreciation and encouragement.

Harold married Vetha Mae (Johnson) Abbott on February 7, 1948.  She preceded him in death November 16, 2002.  In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson: Matthew Butcher, a sister: Wanda Johnson, and brothers: Carl and Donald Abbott.

Surviving him are daughters: Linda Sue Butcher of Noblesville, IN and Kathy Lynn Engle of Arcadia, IN, 6 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M.
