Jill Morrissette

Jill Morrissette, age 91, of Tipton, IN, formerly of Dallas, Texas and Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away February 18, 2019 at Riverview Health at Noblesville, IN.

She was born January 13, 1928 at Pocahontas, Virginia to Matthew and Mary Elizabeth (Kitts) Hammitt.  She attended schools in Bramwell, WV and graduated from Bramwell High School with the Class of 1945.  She then earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree at the University of Cincinnati and had worked on her Master's Degree.

She was an artist whose paintings were usually done in acrylic, oil, and the medium of water color.  She taught art in middle schools and also taught art on cruise ships for 35 years.  She loved to travel and with her occupation has seen most of the world.  She also enjoyed being with her family and sometimes took them with her on her '"working cruises".  Leisure time would often find her reading.

She was married to Richard Lee Morrissette who preceded her in death.  In addition to her husband, her parents also preceded her in death.

Surviving her are two daughters: Terry Bauer of Cincinnati, OH and Amy Coile of Tipton, IN, 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. 

Memorial services are planned at a later date with burial next to her husband at Arlington National Cemetery at Arlington, Texas.  Arrangements are entrusted to Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel, Cicero, IN 46034 where you may send condolences at http://www.hartleyfuneralhomes.com.
