Joseph Roberts

Joseph Roberts, 74, passed on Wednesday August 7, 2019. 

Beloved husband of the late Brenda Roberts (nee Robinson).  Loving father of Crystal (JT) Jezierski.  

Joe grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana.  In 1968, Joe graduated from Ball State University with a BS in Music Education and that same year married Brenda.  Joe was a long-time teacher and administrator with the St. Louis Public Schools District having served as a high school Music Specialist and Choir Director in the early part of his career and moving on to serve in several instructional roles with the school district.  

To many, Joe was known for his voice.  Early in his career Joe sang in the chorus of the St. Louis Municipal Opera.  Throughout his life he remained active as a baritone soloist, performing with community ensembles and serving as a soloist and music director for St. Louis area religious institutions.  

Graveside rites will be held Thursday, August 15, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Roberts Chapel Cemetery near Atlanta, IN with Pastor Mindy Mayes officiating.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Robert Chapel Church.  Local arrangement are entrusted to Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel where you may send condolences at http://www.hartleyfuneralhomes.com.
