Kenneth Ely Obituary

Kenneth Glen Ely, age 71, of Noblesville, IN passed away December 16, 2019 at his home.

He was born December 2, 1948 at Pennington Gap, Virginia to Everette Clyde and Ruby Mary (Lundy) Ely.  He attended Pennington Gap Schools and graduated from Pennington High School with the Class of 1966.

He had worked until retirement at Navistar International at Indianapolis, IN for many years.  His family attested that he loved his work and from his work he was grateful to be able to provide for his family.  His daughters knew he always had their back and would help them with any need. He dearly loved his family and especially enjoyed his grandchildren.

He was a member of Strawtown Community Church.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and just being outdoors.  He excelled in welding and repairing things and would gladly help others with these skills.  He loved watching football games, especially college games.

He married Dee Anna (Clemans) Ely on July 21, 1967.  She survives him.  Also surviving are two daughters: Cynthia Ann Ely of Cicero, IN and Vanessa Marie McDonald of Cicero, IN, grandchildren: Tyler Kiggins and Caitie Sheller, brothers: Everette Ely of Bloomington, IN, Allen Wayne Ely of Noblesville, IN and Larry Ely of Noblesville, IN, sisters: Linda Parker of Sheridan, IN, and Joy Mills, Brenda Iles, and Mary Brooks all of Noblesville, IN.

Preceding him in death are his parents, a sister: Ruth McElroy and a brother Harold Ely.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 20, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Hartley Funeral Home Cicero Chapel, 209 West Jackson Street, Cicero, IN 46034 with Pastor Rick Huffman officiating.  Burial will follow at Carey Cemetery north of Noblesville, IN.  Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon until time of the services.  Memorial contributions may be made to Strawtown Community Church or American Cancer Society.
