Lee Duane Mangold, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and minister passed away December 10, 2019 at Majestic Care of Sheridan. He was a long-time resident of Arcadia, IN.
He was born June 7, 1936 at Hammond, Indiana to Wilbert and Carlette (Harris) Mangold.
He was a graduate of St. John Township High School at Dyer, Indiana and Lincoln Christian University at Lincoln, Illinois. Lee served as minister to Christian Churches in Parkersburg, Arcadia and Tetersburg, Indiana. He also was a school bus driver for Hamilton Heights School Corporation for seventeen years.
Lee had served as a Scout Master for the Boy Scout Troop in Arcadia, IN for many years. Leisure time would find Lee reading, gardening and watching football games. He had a great sense of humor and was well known for his dad jokes and puns.
He married Carol Joan (Frye) Mangold on June 28, 1957. She survives him. Also surviving is a son: Stephen (Andrea) Mangold of Madison, IN, daughters: Yvonne (Kirk) Ambs of Indianapolis, IN, Rochelle (David) Findlay of Nobleboro, Maine and Marilyn (Curtis) Stephens of Terre Haute, IN, a brother: Wilbert (Janet) Mangold of Great Falls, Montana, 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death are his parents and sister: Judith Dittrich.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 12:00 Noon at Arcadia Christian Church, 26901 State Road 19 North, Arcadia, IN 46030. Pastor J.R. Moffatt will officiate. Burial will follow at the Arcadia Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until time of the services, also at the Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
