Leora Margaret Laux

Leora Margaret Laux, age 97, of Arcadia, IN passed away September 20, 2019 at Miller's Merry Manor at Tipton, IN.

She was born January 15, 1922 at Portland, IN to Peter and Calestine (Wagner) Remaklus.

She had worked at Sigler Nursing Home at Arcadia, IN and also for several years as a meat processor at Arcadia Meats. She was a long-time member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Cicero, IN.

Leora enjoyed working jig saw puzzles, crocheting, bingo, and playing cards with her siblings.  Her family attested that she was a loving, giving, caring mom, grandma, great-grandma, aunt and friend to many.

She married Ambrose Joseph Laux on May 8, 1943.  He preceded her in death January 25, 1969.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother: Austin Remaklus, sister: Iona Gehle, and a son-in-law: Russ Beck.

Surviving her is a son: Ken (Sandy) Laux of Arcadia, IN, daughters: Cathy (Dave) Pickett of Arcadia, IN, Marge (Steve) Palmer of Tipton, IN, and Lin Beck of Tipton, IN, sister: Aletha Johnston of Portland, IN, grandchildren: Shelly (Mike) Ross, Todd (Jill) Palmer, Dee (J.R.) Welch, Angie (James) Erwin, Jason Beck, Emily (Zack) Miller, Zeb (Jennifer) Pickett, and Seth (Alison) Pickett.

Additional survivors include great-grandchildren: Elizabeth and Jon Ross, Drew and Owen Palmer, Sierra and Colton Welch, Olivia, Gage, and  Beck Miller, Zoe and Maci Pickett, Gus and Charlotte Pickett. 

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at 12:00 Noon at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 390South Pearl Street, Cicero, IN 46034 with Rev. Dale Ehrman officiating.  Burial will follow at Cicero Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until time of the services also at the Church.  Arrangements are entrusted to Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel where you may send condolences at http://www.hartleyfuneralhomes.com.
