Louella Joann Tansy

Louella Joann Tansy, age 86, of Ft. Myers, FL passed away August 1, 2018 at Citrus Gardens of Ft. Myers.

She was born March 14, 1932 at Cicero, IN to George and Pearl (Margaret (Ballentine) Blackford.  She had lived most of her life in the Cicero and Walnut Grove areas and was a graduate of Walnut Grove High School with the Class of 1950.

Joann, as she was known, was a homemaker and a caterer.  She had catered many special events that included weddings in Hamilton and Tipton Counties.  She was a member of Cicero Christian Church and the Cicero Order of Eastern Star.

She married Lawrence Joe Tansy on October 28, 1951 and they owned and operated a heating and cooling business for several years in the Cicero/Arcadia area.  Her husband preceded her in death July 2, 2013.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a sister: Ruth Blackford, brothers: Robert, Raymond, James and David Blackford.

Surviving her are sons: Steven Joe (Nancy) Tansy of Ft. Myers, FL, Robert Allen (Nancy) Tansy of Loveland, OH, and Larry Joe Tansy of Ft. Myers, FL, five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 10, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel, 209 West Jackson Street, Cicero, IN 46034 with Pastor Neal Brown officiating.  Burial will follow at Arcadia Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until time of the services.  You may send condolences at www.hartleyfuneralhomes.com.
