Lucille DeBarr, age 81, of Atlanta, IN passed away July 11, 2018 at Riverview Health at Noblesville, IN.
She was born April 16, 1937 at Gray Hawk, KY to Rubin and Lillie (Parrott) Sams.
She had worked for several years as a promotional manager for McDonald's restaurants in the central Indiana area. She was well suited for this job as she enjoyed traveling and also enjoyed interacting with others. Additional pursuits included feeding and caring for birds, tending her garden, cooking and quilting.
She was a member of East Union Christian Church.
She married Fred James DeBarr on May 11, 1957. He preceded her in death December 5, 2010. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a sister: Helen Griffin, brothers: William Edward Sams, Charles Sams, Dallas Sams, and Rubin Sams, Jr.
Surviving her is a daughter: Charlotte Jackson of Atlanta, IN, a brother: Adrian Sams of Kokomo, IN, sisters: Carolyn Schreibeis of Sunman, IN, Mollie Menchaca of Noblesville, IN and Crystlene Summers of Tomkinsville, KY, grandchildren: Jason Stoops and Kevin Stoops, plus nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Funeral services will be held at East Union Christian Church, Atlanta, IN at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, July 16, 2018 with Pastor Rex Dunning and Pastor Jody Brown officiating. Visitation will be at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel, 209 West Jackson Street, Cicero, IN 46034 from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Sunday.
