Marilyn Starrett Obituary

Marilyn Alice Starrett, age 86, of Arcadia, IN passed away May 25, 2019 at her home.  She was born February 28, 1933 at Indianapolis, IN to Edmund L. and Pearl (Devaney) Peltier.  She was a graduate of Tipton High School. 

She married Max Gene Starrett on June 10,1951.  He survives her.  She enjoyed her role as a homemaker and loved having family gatherings.

She also worked for several years in the cafeterias of Hamilton Heights Elementary School and the Hamilton Heights Junior High School.

Marilyn was a long-time member of Arcadia Christian Church, Cicero Order of Easter Star, and of Jobs Daughters.  She enjoyed camping, fishing and all sporting events, especially Hamilton Heights football games and all sporting events in which her children and grandchildren were involved. Her family attested to her being a wonderful mom and a great letter writer.  After retiring, she and her husband enjoyed spending winter months in Florida.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter: Robin Sue (Jerry) Eckart of Cicero, IN, sons: Gene "Smoke" (Colleen) Starrett of Cicero, IN and Donald Max Starrett of Noblesville, IN, grandchildren: Chad and Andy Starrett, Amanda Billman, Hilary Kilfoil and Ross Eckart, step-grandchildren: Tom Eckart and Melissa Moore, plus several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death in addition to her parents is a brother; Don Peltier.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel with Pastor J.R. Moffatt officiating.  Visitation will be from 4:00 until time of the services.  Burial will occur at a later date at Arcadia Cemetery..  Memorial contributions may be made to Angel's Attic, P.O.
