Peggy Ann Sturdevant, age 84, of Cicero, IN passed away September 8, 2019 at Harbour Manor at Noblesville, IN.
She was born August 27, 1935 to Raymond and ClaraEllen (Clements) Blackford near Cicero, IN.
She was a graduate of Walnut Grove High School with the Class of 1953 and then furthered her education at Wittenbenrg University. She was a life-long member of Bethel Lutheran Church.
Being raised on a family farm, she enjoyed living in the country and often took drives throughout the county observing the various farming practices. This led her to love being outdoors, tending her flowers and yard. She became known for her floral arrangements and provided flowers for various functions and from that she evolved into wedding planning. Peggy also worked at Lazarus for several years at Glendale and at their Castleton stores where she was placed in various departments, but was best known for her beautiful and creative gift wrapping. People would even purchase things in other stores, but bring them to her at Lazarus to wrap for them
Peggy was a great cook and an avid reader. Her friends knew her as a very social person with a good sense of humor.
She married Stephen Ross Sturdevant July 1, 1956. He preceded her in death December 9, 1989. Her parents also preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter: Mary Ann Sturdevant of Anderson, IN and a son: Douglas Sturdevant of Cicero, IN, grandchildren: Stephanie, Stephan, and Rachel plus many nieces, nephews and cousins.
