Stephen Richard Briscoe

Stephen Richard Briscoe, age 67, of Arcadia, IN passed away September 19, 2019 at Miller's Merry Manor at Tipton, IN.

He was born January 7, 1952 at Elwood, IN to Ira Murl and Roberta Louise (Parr) Briscoe.  

He was a graduate of Tipton High School with the Class of 1971 and was a member of the Arcadia Church of the Brethren.

Stephen was an avid collector of sports items and license plates.  His favorite team was always the team of the day.  He as a huge Elvis Presley fan, even installing a statue on the hood of his car, forgetting that to change the oil, Elvis had to be removed.

He was joined to the love of his life, Johnna (Griffin) Briscoe on July 1, 1995 and the family attested that they were made for each other.  They even portrayed Elvis together with her singing back up for Stephen.  At a performance, they were both dressed and groomed for their parts and as they were singing, she fell off the stage.  He was so "into' his role he did not notice and continued singing.

Stephen was a dietary technician for the Tipton County Hospital for many years and greatly enjoyed his role at work, and interacting with his co-workers.

He is survived by his mother, Roberta of Arcadia, IN, a brother: David Lee Briscoe of Largo, FL and a brother-in-law: Richard Tishner also of Largo, FL. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Ira and his maternal grandparents: Harry and Elsie Parr.

Funeral services will be held Monday, September 23, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel, 209 West Jackson Street, Cicero, IN 46034 with Pastor Ben Poole officiating.  Burial will follow at the Curtisville Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until time of the services.  Memorial contributions may be made to Arcadia Church of the Brethren.  You may send condolences at http://www.hartleyfuneralhomes.com.
