Von Lendon Sharp

Von Lendon Sharp, 74 of Tipton/Atlanta, IN, passed away Sunday June 16th 2019 at home surrounded by his family.  He was born October 21, 1945 to Frank and Lula (Weir) Sharp in Jacksboro TN.

Von was a 1965 graduate of Jacksboro High School where he excelled as a defensive player on the basketball team and pitcher on the baseball team.  Following graduation, Von traveled to Indiana where he met and married Bonnie L. Barrickman of Cicero IN.  They remained married for 51 years.

Von honorably served his country in Vietnam and successfully started and operated his own business, Sharp Masonry.  He prided himself on providing the very best brick and block construction available in Indiana until his retirement from the business in 2004.

Von was a life long member of the Jacksboro Methodist Church.

Von was a loving giving man to his family, friends and community.  Von was very much a family man.  He was proud of his children and grandchildren’s activities, achievements and life events and never hesitated to share that pride with others. He loved spending time with friends and family, fishing, talking racecars, telling stories, as well as sharing vegetables from his beautiful garden.  Von was always willing to volunteer his time and material to helping anyone in need and that is how he will forever be remembered.

He is survived by his wife Bonnie L. Sharp, his three children Tabatha Sharp, Adam Sharp (Sophie), Sumer Byram (Rick), five grandchildren Meme, Reese, Lendon, Rachel and Frank, as well as his sister Frankie (Gerry) Hiatt.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 19, 2019 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at Hartley Funeral Home in Cicero, followed by funeral services at 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
