Obituary

Dale Milton Hinshaw, age 87, of Cicero, Indiana passed away February 12, 2022 at Riverwalk Village in Noblesville, IN.

He was born May 29,1934 at Arcadia, Indiana to Harlan Ross and Nellie Winifred (Goff) Hinshaw.  He was educated in Jackson Township Schools and graduated from Jackson Central High School.  During his school years he was actively involved in sports, playing varsity basketball and football.

He was an "over the road" semi truck driver and in his early years had worked for Harold Rigsby Trucking Company and later for Overland Trucking Corporation.

Dale was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.

Dale liked to fish, hunt and eradicate groundhogs who were very destructive.  He loved feeding the squirrels around his home, even making pets of them.  They would actually come to him and eat out of his hand.  He also enjoyed watching I.U. basketball and the Indianapolis Colts football games.  He liked to browse and purchase at flea markets and garage sales.  But most of all he loved his family and greatly enjoyed being with his grandchildren.

He married Shirley Ann (Waugh) Hinshaw on March 6, 1952.  She survives him.  Also surviving are five children, Dale Ross Hinshaw, Gay Lynn Shepard, Marie Norton, Bruce Hinshaw and Karla McEntire, grandchildren: Shon Shepard, Jeremy Hinshaw, Jason Norton, Krista Lainhoff, Jonathon Hinshaw, and Ryan McEntire plus 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson: Ryan Hinshaw and brothers: Don, Jerry, Reese, and Max Hinshaw.

Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel is entrusted with Dale's care.  No services are planned at this time.  Burial of his cremated remains will take place at a later date at Cicero Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Disease Research, 22512 Gateway Center Drive, Clarksburg, MD  20871.  You may send condolences at http://www.hartleyfuneralhomes.com.
