Darlene Joyce Flowers

Darlene Joyce Flowers, age 83, of Anderson, Indiana passed away February 14, 2022 at Beaumont Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Anderson.

She was born December 14, 1938 at Wibaux, Montana to Herbert Donald and Sheila Mae (Tennant) Bowman.  She attended Cicero Elementary School and then Jackson Central High School, graduating with the Class of 1957.  She worked for over 30 years at Riverview Hospital doing secretarial and clerical work for various departments.

Darlene was an active member at Meadowbrook Church of Christ in Anderson, Indiana.

Darlene liked to go to auctions and flea markets with her favorite find being St. Clair Glass.  She also enjoyed crocheting, doing counted cross stitching, and tending her flowers.   And she looked forward to taking short trips with her beloved husband, James "Jim" Flowers.  Jim related that she enjoyed being with others and would often kid and joke with them when she got to know them.

Survivors include her husband: James Clay Flowers, daughter: Deanna Plumlee of Indianapolis, IN, brother: James Floyd Bowman of Cicero, IN and a granddaughter: Mariah Harris of Indianapolis, IN.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sons: James David Plumlee, Donald D. Plumlee, sister: Shirley Mosbaugh, and a brother: Robert Bowman.

Memorial services will be held Monday February 28, 2022 at 5:00 P.M. at Hartley Funeral Home Cicero Chapel, 209 West Jackson Street, Cicero, IN 46034.  A time of visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until time of the services.  Burial will be at a later date at Cicero Cemetery.  You may send condolences at http://www.hartleyfuneralhomes.com.
