Doris Sams Obituary

Doris Helen Sams, age 75, of Cicero, IN, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Riverview Health at Noblesville, IN.

She was born May 19, 1944 at Cincinnati, Ohio to Letcher and Dovie Catherine (Ledger) Hicks.

Doris was a homemaker and greatly enjoyed being with her family and friends. They attested that she was a very kind and compassionate lady.

She married Charles Robert Sams on December 26, 1970. He preceded her in death September 21, 2011. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter: Barbara Smith and siblings: Alma, Raymond and Larry Hicks, Lucille Heimbold, Becky Burke, Mollie Dincler, and Bert Tucker.

Surviving her is a son: Charles Robert (Norma) Sams, II, brothers: Tommy Hicks of Gray Hawk, KY, Herbert Hicks of Bethel, OH, and Jimmy Hicks of New Richmond, OH, sisters: Bonnie Caldwell of Gray Hawk, KY, and Edith Koeniger of Amelia, OH, plus three grandchildren: Samantha Hardcastle, and Adrianna and Alysia Sams.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday August 4th. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Hartley Funeral Homes, 209 West Jackson Street, Cicero, IN 46034 where you may send condolences at http://www.hartleyfuenralhomes.com.
