George Wilfred Simpson, Jr. age 84, of Cicero, IN passed away April 17, 2020 at his home.
He was born April 12, 1936 at South Bend, IN to George Wilfred and Beatrice Justine (Roesch) Simpson.
He was a graduate of Broad Ripple High School with the Class of 1954, then earned a BS degree from Indiana University. He was an analytical chemist working as a solvent and contamination analyst for over 34 years at Delco Electonics at Kokomo, IN.
He was a member of the Analytical Chemist Society and a 50 year plus member of the Kokomo Masonic Lodge.
George was an avid car and boat fan. He had owned and driven several cars, with his favorites being convertibles and Corvettes. The boats he owned were racing boats and starting in 1950 he raced Hydroplanes, then in the 1960s and 1970s he raced GW Invaders and Allison Craft Boats. Leisure time would find him reading car and boat magazines.
He married Rebecca Louise (McDowell) Simpson on December 10, 1960. She survives him. Also surviving are sons: George (Debbie) Simpson and Wayne McDowell Simpson, both of Cicero, IN, grandchildren: Cheryl Baker, Ashley Versprille and Jimmy Simpson and 4 great-grandchildren.
His parents preceded him in death.
