James Douglas Obituary

James David Douglas, age 81, of Noblesville, IN passed away January 10, 2022 at his home with his family at his side.

He was born July 30, 1940 at Noblesville, IN to David Oren and Mildred Jeannette (Eller) Douglas.  He grew up on a farm near Cicero, IN, attended Jackson Township Schools and graduated from Jackson Central High School with the Class of 1959.

He married Leora May (Weer) Douglas on February 7, 1960 and they began their lives together farming.  Being a small farmer, Jim, as he was fondly known, soon decided to seek other employment that would better support his family.  He became a journeyman model maker working in steel and became employed at Vibromatic Corporation in Noblesville, IN.  With a great work ethic he worked there over 38 years.

Jim was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Noblesville and his family related that he developed a great relationship with God.  He was a loving, compassionate husband and father and the rock and foundation of their family.  He was also very patriotic and understood the opportunities and blessings of living in America.  Leisure time would find him fishing, hunting, boating, and in later years wintering in Florida.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters: Christy (Doug) Featherston, Donna (Chad) Calhoun and Jamie (Carson) Malone, five grandchildren: Thomas (Amy) Herron, Christin (Gary) Swinford, Jessica (Josh) Kingery, Morgan Malone, and James Malone, six great-grandchildren: Sidney Swinford, Jake Herron, Waylon Swinford, Mya Herron, Brailey Swinford, and Levi Herron.  Also surviving is a sister: Marilyn (George) Cox, niece: Loretta Obereiner, nephew: Michael (Stacey) Cox, DVM,  cousin: Bill (Ruth Ann) Hiatt.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a cousin: Nancy Stephens.
