Joseph Everett Robbins, age 80, of Arcadia, Indiana passed away peacefully at his home on October 1, 2023 surrounded by his family.
Joe was born on October 31, 1942 in Madison, IN to parents William Smith Robbins and Ruth Marie (Richards) Robbins.
Joe served in the U.S. Army from 1964-1967 and was a combat veteran of Vietnam where he earned numerous awards and medals for gallantry including the Bronze Star and the Distinguished Flying Cross. After being honorably discharged Joe went into law enforcement which he absolutely loved. He served 30 years with the Noblesville Police Department before retiring on April 4, 2007. He rose in rank from a patrolman to Sargent, lieutenant, and eventually Deputy Chief. Joe also trained with the FBI in Quantico, Virginia in 1984. Before moving to the Arcadia area Joe was a Deputy with the Madison Sheriff's department in the early 1970’s. After relocating to Central Indiana Joe accepted the position of Town Marshall for Ingalls and after retiring from Noblesville he served as the town Marshall for Atlanta, Indiana. Joe continued his dedicated service to law enforcement with the FOP where he served as President.
Joe was a committed servant of his hometown of Arcadia where he served as Fire Chief of the Jackson township fire department. Joe also held the position of Jackson Township Trustee. Joe was also an active member of the Cicero Kiwanis Club and served a term as President.
Surviving Joe is his wife Pamela 'Pam' Robbins. He is also survived by his children: his son, Joseph Robbins (wife Jana), two daughters: Dana Lipps (husband Randy), and Kimberly Robbins, a stepdaughter: Jenny Miller, and stepson: Patrick Miller.
Joe is also survived by 16 Grandchildren and 7 Great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 3:00 PM with visitation from 12:00 noon until time of services at the Cicero Christian Church on Stringtown Pike in Cicero, Indiana. A celebration of life service will follow officiated by Pastor and friend Jody Brown of the Atlanta Christian Church. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the Cicero American Legion, PO Box 256, Cicero, Indiana 46034.
