Mary Louise Walz

Mary Louise Walz, age 82, of Arcadia, IN passed away September 19, 2018 at I.U. Health Tipton Hospital.

She was born September 4, 1936 at Tipton, IN to John and Bertha (Friend) Pearson.  She attended Tipton Schools and graduated with the Class of 1954 from Tipton High School.

She had worked for several years at the former Carney's Drug Store in downtown Tipton.  When it closed she took a job with Miami-Luken Company at Carmel, IN processing prescription drug orders. 

She married Carl Richard Walz on April 6, 1958 and they began life together on a family farm that they called the Walz Angus Farm.  She assisted her husband in farming, caring for their livestock, and gardening.  They exhibited the produce from their garden at the Indiana State Fair Open Class for several years.  And they attended many Angus Cattle shows across the midwestern states.

She was a member of Emanual Lutheran Church at Arcadia, IN, the Business Professional Women's Club at Tipton. and the Tipton Senior Citizens Organization. Mary Lou, as she was fondly known, was an avid sports enthusiast and could recite statistics from numerous games.  I.U. teams and the Chicago Cubs were favorites.

Surviving her is a daughter: Lora Lynn (Bill) Wright of Spring, Texas and a granddaughter: Megan Lane.

Her parents and her husband preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 355 Shaffer Street, Arcadia, IN 4030.  Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until time at the services, also at the Church.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Church.  Arrangements are entrusted to Hartley Funeral Homes where you may send condolences at www.hartleyfuneralhomes.com.
