Rebecca Lockwood, age 83, of Arcadia, IN passed away January 10, 2022 at I.U. Tipton Memorial Hospital in Tipton, Indiana.
Rebecca was born December 5, 1938 at the home of her parents in Arcadia, IN with her twin sister, Roberta. Roberta was stillborn and was buried with her grandparents in a small country cemetery near Arcadia. Rebecca grew up in Arcadia and attended Jackson Township School graduating in 1956 from Jackson Central High School. She soon found employment in downtown Indianapolis.
She loved the beach and being in the sun. One afternoon she was at the public swimming pool in Noblesville where she met her future husband. They were married February 23, 1958 and established a home in Arcadia. She greatly enjoyed her new role as a wife and homemaker. Her family related that she was the ultimate homemaker, a fantastic cook, and maintained perfect flower beds. Leisure time would find her matching wits with game shows and working crossword puzzles. She and her husband eventually purchased a motor home and enjoyed traveling, especially to the western states.
Rebecca was a member of the Arcadia Christian Church where she also taught Sunday school.
She is survived by her sons: Randy (Dawn) Lockwood of Arcadia, IN and Brian Lockwood of Greenville, SC, sisters: Janice Fisher of Arcadia, IN and Susan Green of Cicero, IN, grandchildren: Brandon (Kelli) Lockwood and Brett (Jennifer) Lockwood, great-grandchildren: Drake Lockwood and Aria Lockwood.
In addition to her parents, Fred and Marzella (Winders) Clifford and her twin sister, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Chuck" Lockwood, a brother: William "Bill" Clifford and a sister: Linda Roudebush.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00PM, Friday, January 14, 2022 at Hartley Funeral Home Cicero Chapel, 209 West Jackson Street, Cicero, IN 46034 with Pastor Mark Knapp officiating. Burial will follow at Arcadia Cemetery. A time of visitation will be from 10:00AM until time of the services. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Disease Research, P.O.
