Richard Allen Coverdale

Richard Allen Coverdale, age 83, of Cicero, Indiana passed away February 19, 2022 at Prairie Lakes Nursing Home at Noblesville, IN.

He was born February 27, 1938 at Noblesville, IN to Marvin Vernon & Edna Amelia (Evans) Coverdale.

He attended Noblesville schools and graduated from Noblesville High School with the Class of 1957.  At an early age he learned the skills of carpentering and became very adept at it.  He also farmed and raised and cared for livestock that included cows, horses, chickens, ducks and his beloved pets.  In later years he worked at Tractor Supply at Westfield, IN for 20 years.  His family related that he was always busy!

Richard loved being outdoors, especially being in the woods.  He enjoyed hunting, camping, planting and tending a large garden, plus trips to southern Indiana.

He was a member of Westfield Friends Church.

He married Sally Elizabeth (Hale) Coverdale on November 26, 1961 who preceded him in death August 12, 2014.  His parents and a sister, Evelyn Coverdale also preceded him in death.
Surviving him are sons: Kipp Coverdale of Cicero, IN and Daniel (Lynne) Coverdale of Westfield, IN, brothers: Robert Coverdale of Frankton, IN and Edgar Coverdale of Noblesville, IN, plus grandchildren: Kasey Coverdale and Konner Coverdale.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 25, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. at Hartley Funeral Home Cicero Chapel, 209 West Jackson Street, Cicero, IN 46034 with a time of visitation Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M.  Burial will follow the services at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens near Fishers, IN.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society for Hamilton County, 10501 Hague Road, Fishers, IN 46038.  You may send condolences at http://www.hartleyfuneralhomes.com.
