Robert Joseph Baker

Robert Joseph Baker, age 80, of Arcadia, Indiana passed away November 22, 2021 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.

He was born June 5, 1941 at Noblesville, IN to Paul Wayne and Anna Katheryn (Irwin) Baker.  He grew up in northern Hamilton County and attended Cicero Elementary School and graduated from Jackson Central High School in Arcadia, IN.

Bobby as he was fondly known had worked for many years at Delco Remy in Anderson, IN.  After work and during week-ends he umpired and refereed ball games for children's sports.  He also coached little league baseball, football, and basketball teams.  He loved helping all people, especially young people.

He also enjoyed fishing, camping, working in his yard, and just being outdoors.  He looked forward to family gatherings, especially interacting with his grandchildren.

He married Sharon Ann (Fisher) Baker on July 29, 1960.  She preceded him in death October 30, 1989.  He later met Viola Jane Stokes and they shared a good life together until she passed away.  In addition to Sharon and Viola, he was also preceded in death by his parents, a son: David Allen Baker, a daughter: Lori Kathleen Chaudion, great-grandchild: Matthew Baker, brothers: Dale Baker and Basil Baker.

Surviving him are sons: Tracy (Donna) Baker of Lebanon, IN, Paul Wayne (Donna) Baker of Arcadia, IN, brother: Michael (Paula) Baker of Arcadia, IN, sister: Carol    (Granville) Baber of Arcadia, IN, 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

A memorial visitation and gathering will be held on Sunday, November 28, 2021 from 3:00 until 5:00 P.M. at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel, 209 West Jackson Street, Cicero, IN, 46034 for Robert "Bobbie" Baker.  Burial will occur at a later date at Maplewood Cemetery at Anderson, IN.  You may send condolences at http://www.hartleyfuneralhomes.com.
