Robert Moore Obituary

Robert Deward Moore, age 88, of Noblesville, Indiana passed away October 2, 2021 at his home in Noblesville.

He was born November 16, 1932 at Richwood, West Virginia to Ezra and Cora (Brewster) Moore.  He grew up in Richwood and graduated from Richwood High School.  At the age of 18 he left his hometown to join the United States Air Force.  He spent two years active duty in England during the Korean war, then after returning to the states he joined the National Guard serving for another seven years.

Upon returning home he married Rosa Lee Strader and moved to Moline, Illinois, got a job with the Corpe of Engineers, and had four children with wife, Rosa.

He then began working for the John Deere Company painting combines.  In 1968 they divorced.

While working at John Deere he met and married Elaine Headland who had two children of her own and they had a child together.  In 1969 they moved to Indiana and he became employed at the Ford Motor Company.  He was laid off in 1983 and being an industrious person he started a wood working business called Moore's Country Wood Crafting in Arcadia, IN.  It is still owned and operated by family today.

Robert retired from Ford and successfully started several other businesses before fully retiring and selling those businesses about three years ago.

He married Gwendolyn (Albregta) Gallagher Moore seven years ago at the age of 81 and they enjoyed traveling, creating a beautifully landscaped yard, and just being together. Their song "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine" was their life together.

He is survived by his wife of almost eight years, his children, Patricia Williams, Vicki Cutforth, Robert Moore, Brenda Mosbaugh, Jack Fogle, Kem McDowell, and Tami Claus, 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.  He will be dearly missed by all.
