Russell Thomas Winders

Russell Thomas Winders, age 81, of Cicero, IN passed away September 11, 2018 at IU Health Tipton Hospital.

He was born August 8, 1937 near Arcadia, IN to Doyle Thomas and Nora Mae (Hawkins) Winders.

He was a graduate of Walnut Grove High School with the Class of 1956.  After graduation he soon became employed at Guide Lamp at Anderson, IN where he worked as an electrician for 42 years.

He married Loye Jane (Watson) Winders on November 7, 1959.  She preceded him in death October 24, 2016.  In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by two grandsons: Alan Estep and Christopher Estep.

Russell enjoyed woodworking, carpentering, and attending auctions.  His love of music would find him and his wife at the Hedgehog Music Center at Arcadia, IN on Saturday evenings.  He also was a family man and loved and cared for his children and  their families.

Surviving him are two daughters: Jewell Crawford of Cicero, IN and Jennifer Clanin of Arcadia, in, 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be held Monday, September 17, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel, 209 West Jackson Street, Cicero, IN 46034 with Rev. Neal Brown officiating.  Burial will follow at the Cicero Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon until time of the services.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.  You may send condolences at http://www.hartleyfuneralhomes.com.
