Ruth Gipson Obituary

Ruth Elizabeth Gipson, age 97, of Westfield, Indiana passed away Sunday, July 24, 2022 at Maple Park Village in Westfield, Indiana.

She was born July 1, 1925 at Westfield, Indiana to William Silas and Pearl Glenn (Carson) Statzer.  She attended Westfield Schools and graduated from Westfield High School.

She married Donald Ray Gipson on September 27, 1943 and she began her new role as wife and homemaker.  She also worked for several years as a food server for Carmel Drug Store and for Carmel Dairy Queen.  She enjoyed working, but also enjoyed crocheting and working crossword puzzles during leisure time.

Her husband preceded her in death September 4, 1990.  In addition to her husband, also preceding her in death are her parents, a son: Stephen Gipson, brother: William Statzer, sisters: Thyra Randall and Sylvia Shugart, and a grandchild: Terry Harvey.

Surviving her is a daughter: Cindy Ann Harvey of Cicero, IN, grandchildren: Tom Harvey, Jr., Angie (Jason) Reecer, Matt (Christy) Harvey, Kristen Harvey, and Kim (Mark Howard) Gipson, 8 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchldren.

Private graveside rites will be held at Eagle Creek Cemetery near Eagletown, Indiana.  Hartley Funeral Home is entrusted with Mrs. Gipson's care and where you may send condolences at  http://www.hartleyfuneralhomes.com.
