Sandra Marie Clifford

Sandra Marie Clifford, age 85, of Arcadia, Indiana passed away Sunday, January 15, 2023 at her home.

She was born May 20, 1937 at Cicero, Indiana to Justus and Katherine (Applegate) Durnell and grew up in the Cicero area.  She attended Jackson Township Schools and graduated from Jackson Central High School with the Class of 1955.

Sandy, as she was fondly known, married William "Bill" Clifford and they purchased a house on the outskirts of Arcadia.  They also owned and operated Shell Service Station in Arcadia for several years. Sandy enjoyed her role as a homemaker and she was known for keeping an immaculate home and yard.  She also liked to ride her bicycle, and not just on short trips.  Weather permitting, she would usually ride three or four times per week and travel over twenty miles.  Occasionally she would ride from Arcadia to Tipton and back.

Sandy loved to fish and beginning in 1968 until year 2022 she and her family took yearly vacation trips to Blue Lake Resort in Michigan.  She really looked forward to those trips and the time spent with her family.

She is survived by her sons: Kelly Lee (Jackie) Clifford of Avon IN and Scott David (Linda) Clifford of Royal Center, IN, grandchildren: Jeremy, McKinsey, Ross, and Chad, and great-grandchildren: Effie and Scout, sisters: Marilyn Tidler of Kokomo, IN and Sue Anderson of Arizona.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 23, 2023 at 5:00 P.M. at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel, 209 West Jackson Street, Cicero, IN 46034 with Pastor Mark Knapp officiating.  There will be a time of visitation from 3:00 P.M. until time of the services.  You may send condolences at our website, http://www.hartleyfuneralhomes.com.
