Virginia Ilene Grabowski

Virginia Ilene Grabowski, age 83, of Noblesville, Indiana passed away January 3, 2020 at her home.  She was born July 25, 1936 at Urbana, Illinois to Benny and Gwendolyn (Davis) Cox.  

After completing high school she met and married John Anthony Grabowski on July 9, 1955.  She enjoyed being a wife, mother and grandmother and looked forward to family gatherings  She was very artistic in various endeavors that included ceramics, macrame, peek-a-boo eggs as well as other crafts.  Paintings included oil, acrylic, water color, plus colored pencil.  She even designed the school flag for Hamilton Heights Elementary.

She had worked as a cashier for over 11 years for Walmart in Noblesville, then worked in the Day Care Center at Cicero Christian Church, primarily with the 3 year olds.

Survivors include her husband, a daughter: Gwendolyn "Sue" (Stan) Owens of Noblesville, IN,  grandchild: Axel Lee Owens of Noblesville, IN, great-grandchildren: Kylah Owens and Landon Owens, nephews: Bennie Retz and Nick Retz.

Her parents and two siblings preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday January 8, 2020 at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel, 209 West Jackson Street, Cicero, IN 46034, with John Knapp officiating.  Burial will follow at Crownland Cemetery at Noblesville, IN.  Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until time of the services.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 115 West Washington Street, Suite 1180-South, Indianapolis, IN 46204.  You may send condolences at http://www.hartleyfuneralhomes.com.
